The
ISDN Lines enable incoming callers the facility to by-pass the operator and dial
direct to an extension.
This
is the full telephone number of the person who is calling you, displayed on your
telephone prior to answer (only available on Q.931 lines). If the caller’s
number is programmed in the system speed dials the call will be displayed by
company/persons name.
A
Video Conferencing Unit can be added to the server (prices range from 3600 TO £20,000)
and connected to an ISDN socket. The server will instantly recognise the unit
and open up an additional data channel for video transmission.
This
allows incoming calls to be married to the company database via the Local Area
Network. For example, as a call is presented for answering the telephone server
will first present the telephone number to the database. The number will be
searched and the company details will be “screen popped” on the PC as the
phone starts to ring. The extension user then knows who is calling, full
customer name and address is simultaneously displayed together all customer
account details. This will allow callers to be personally greeted with full
customer details on the PC screen to process the caller’s enquiry instantly.
The DCS is both TAPI2 and TSAP1 compliant.
The Interface Card provides ISDN2 (128k) direct connection from Primary Rate ISDN30. The card provides 4 ports of ISDN 128k allowing the use of high speed Internet access or real time video conferencing as an example.
